Ysopia Bioscience is a French biotech based in Bordeaux developing microbiome-based therapeutics. Ysopia is looking for an outstanding microbiologist with expertise in anaerobic culture of micro-organisms. You will be part of the R&D team and work in close interaction with other scientists and project managers. You will work under the direct supervision of the Chief Scientific Officer. You are rigorous, organized, autonomous and like teamwork. You have proven experience working with anaerobic micro-organisms.



  • Manage the bacterial strain collection of Ysopia Bioscience
  • Characterise and study micro-organisms using appropriate methods
  • Set up/Optimise/Suggest appropriate experimental protocols
  • Record data following appropriate procedures
  • Analyse and interpret results
  • Write up documents
  • Communicate within your team and with project managers
  • Take part in day to day laboratory activities



  • PhD in microbiology or equivalent
  • Minimum 3 years experience working in an R&D laboratory
  • Good English skills (oral and written)
  • Experience working with anaerobic micro-organisms
  • Good knowledge of sequencing technologies and associated data analysis would be preferable
